Open Studio - Advanced Analysis with Brian Atyeo
May 10 - 14, 2010
Tuition: $570 cdn.
From Brian:
"Five hard days of painting will probably appeal to artists who are currently working at that level [intermediate/advanced] or artists who are looking for the experience of intense painting.
I will demonstrate on the Monday and Tuesday of the week, focusing on deconstruction vs reconstruction, and how the Design Elements and Principles apply to this line of thinking.
The remainder of my week will be spent with one on one discussion of options and daily group critiques. I will be encouraging artists towards the contemporary view of painting, with special attention given to paint surface and integrity."

Open Studio/Linear Perspective with Jeremy Mayne
July 5 - 9, 2010
Tuition: $500 cdn.
This diverse workshop is designed to give each participant the opportunity to pursue individual artistic goals within a tutorial/open studio format while at the same time giving each person the chance to explore linear perspective. Many forms of media will be considered with emphasis on how, within a particular work, each "co-exists" to strengthen an overall image. During the week we will look at the various forms of linear perspective with the goal of assuring all come away with a solid understanding of the basic principles and the ability to apply it to their work. I will work one on one to help each student realize his/her goals for the workshop. Please come ready to dig deep and share the many ideas of all participants.

Experimental Techniques with Ursula Reynolds
October 15 - 17 and October 22 - 24, 2010
Tuition: $520 cdn.
This six-day workshop is designed to broaden our painting experience through experimentation. We will explore creative methods of using  watermedia. A variety of techniques will be introduced and their implementation stressed so that participants leave with a working knowledge of the methods used in this workshop. The first three day session will be spent in creating starts for paintings. The three day follow-up will then be spent in finishing those starts. This somewhat unusual workshop format will give us time to let those starts dry thoroughly so that they can safely be worked on and also give us time to think about possible directions those starts might take. River Rock will supply some of the new materials needed in order to make participation easier. Come prepared for six days of creating, learning, sharing and enjoying.
